MBANK EMPLOYS MORE OPERATIONS-CERTIFIED BANKERS
PORTLAND, May 13, 2008 - Merchants Bancorp, primary holding company for Gresham-based MBank, today announced the graduation of three members of its operating team from the Oregon Bankers Association (OBA) Bank Operations School. In addition to six previously certified MBank employees, Lorianne Fiedler, Angela Hebert and Sarah Luna each completed the northwest’s premier bank operations school after a comprehensive eight-month curriculum.
The OBA Bank Operations School provides students a detailed exploration of major issues facing bank operations personnel. The school provides a framework to examine the operations that support primary and ancillary bank services. “This school is an invaluable experience for bank operating professionals. The curriculum includes real-life examples and in-depth training on key issues and topics that bank officers face daily, regardless of institution size,” said Vicky Mills, vice president of compliance for MBank, who also served as a keynote speaker for the recent educational session.
“The cornerstone of the Bank Operations School is the opportunity to integrate knowledge gained at the school with issues of current concern to participant banks,” stated Kathy Grimes, vice president of operations, MBank. “By attending this school, students are guided to think in practical terms on real issues. This "live" assignment also gives the participants the opportunity to present operational solutions to their bank's top management.”
The operations school is hosted in cooperation with the Oregon, Washington and Idaho Bankers Associations. Applicants are carefully selected based on professional experience due to a limited class size of 30 persons. For more information, or to register, visit www.oregonbankers.com.
