At the crossroads of new technology MBank appoints vice president

GRESHAM, Ore. - MBank, Gresham’s only chartered community bank, today announced the promotion of Peter Battistel to Vice President and Director of Information Technology.

Battistel has been an integral member of MBank since joining its technology team in October 2004. In his new role, Battistel is responsible for technological advancement and direction of the company through systems management and data security.

“In the past four years, Battistel has demonstrated himself to be a committed and talented leader as well as a tremendous asset to MBank, “ said Ron Shoemake, executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Battistel has contributed significantly to the technological success of the company, introduced streamlined security processes and we are pleased to work with him as we continue to develop high tech banking solutions for our clients.”

Battistel holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon and an accreditation from Microsoft as a Systems Certified Engineer in Security. He played a significant role in MBank’s 2007 launch of its unique remote deposit product as well. The [M]Deposit service allows business account holders to deposit checks from their office using a computer and a bank-provided scanning device.

“It’s a great honor to be a part of the team responsible for leading MBank in a dynamic environment where technology continues to influence how, when and where our customers conduct financial transactions.“ said Battistel. “In this advanced leadership role I look forward to leveraging such automation to improve our service offerings.”
